Steve Gregory
Senior Pastor
Pastor Steve grew up in Tucson and was involved in 4H, FFA, rodeo, distance running, and many other sports. After high school, he entered the Navy and studied in the Advanced Electronics Program. Steve worked as a telecommunications technician, project manager, and operations manager for an IT company. Steve has been married to Lynn for 35 years, and they have one daughter in college.
In 2002, Steve became a Song of Life United Methodist Church member and later transferred to Chandler United Methodist Church. Steve has held many lay positions, including Habitat for Humanity Ministry Coordinator, Mission Ministry Chairperson, Certified Lay Speaker, Lay Leader, small group leader, Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school director, and Dad & Me Camp leader.
Pastor Steve was on staff at Chandler United Methodist Church for thirteen years as the Director of Children & Youth Ministry and most recently as Lay Person Assigned to lead Chandler United Methodist Church. Pastor Steve is continuing his education at Claremont School of Theology. He has a passion for outreach ministry and making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Pastor Steve is enthusiastic about outreach ministries, social justice, and building intergenerational programs, which include children, youth, and adults.
The Rev. Melissa Rynders, Missional Strategist and Superintendent of the East District, announced that Bishop Carlo A. Rapanut intends to appoint Steve Gregory to serve The UMC of Casa Grande less than full-time, effective July 1, 2023, per ¶318.2 of the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline.

The Council of the United Methodist Church of Casa Grande (UMCCG) steers the church’s ministry and administrative bodies with insightful guidance. Dedicated to long-term strategic foresight, the Council ensures steadfast adherence to UMCCG’s inclusive vision—inviting everyone to embrace the path of Jesus Christ and unite in a community of faith, hope, and purposeful action. Regular council assemblies convene every month on the second Sunday, fostering collaborative decision-making and spiritual growth.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in the UMC, ensuring the church’s physical and financial resources are well-managed and used in a way that aligns with the church’s mission and values. They are the stewards of the church’s assets and are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring these assets are used effectively and efficiently for the benefit of the congregation and the broader community.
