What does it mean, “Get Connected”?

“Get connected” with the United Methodist Churches means becoming involved in the church community through various activities and ministries. This can include:

  • Attending worship services: Joining regular worship services to connect with God and the congregation.
  • Participating in small groups: Engaging in Bible studies, prayer groups, or fellowship groups to build deeper relationships.
  • Volunteering: Offering your time and talents to support church activities and community outreach programs.
  • Joining church events: Taking part in special events, social gatherings, and church-sponsored activities.
  • Receiving pastoral care: Accessing support and guidance from church leaders and pastor.

Understanding “Step One” meaning

The first step in getting involved with a local United Methodist Church is often to attend a worship service. This allows you to experience the community, worship style, and teachings firsthand. The United Methodist Church of Casa Grande offers a traditional service on Sundays, along with opportunities for fellowship and communion.

If you’re new, you might also want to reach out to the church office or a pastor to introduce yourself and learn more about the church’s programs and activities. This can help you find ways to get involved and connect with others in the congregation.

Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV): “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

Psalm 121:1-8: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
