Change for Life collecting spare change for a Community Organization during July 2024

The Pinal/Gila Council for Senior Citizens:

  • It is a non-profit organization that aims to enhance the quality of life of elders in Pinal and Gila Counties.
  • The organization manages many senior centers in these counties, providing on-site meals and socialization opportunities.
  • It offers educational programs, assistance with health insurance and benefits, and support groups.
  • The Pinal/Gila Council for Senior Citizens delivers nutritious meals to eligible homebound individuals.
  • The organization addresses the growing concern in the U.S. about caring for older adults.
  • It provides opportunities for seniors and persons with disabilities to achieve and maintain independence and dignity.

Adult Sunday School & Bible Study— by Mark

The Sunday School class will take a summer break for the months of July and August 2024. Start back in September 2024 with a study of Romans.

 

Birthday Sunday -1st Sunday of Each Month

Birthday Sunday, we sing the Happy Birthday Song to celebrate the monthly birthdays, bringing  joy to all. Later, in fellowship hall, we eat cake.

Lunch Bunch - 2nd Wednesday of Each Month

Join us each month at a designated restuarant.

  • When: 2nd Wednesday of each montrh.
  • Time: 11:30 am

Women's Group (SWWG) Meeting - 2nd Thursday each Month

  • When: 2nd Thursday each Month
  • Time: 1:00 pm
  • Where: Fellowship Hall

Leadership Meeting - 2nd Sunday of Each Month

  • Time: 11:20 a.m.
  • Location: Pastor’s Office
  • Frequency: Leadership Meetings occur on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 11:20 a.m. in the Pastor’s Office.

Food Bank Sunday - 3rd Sunday of Each Month

  • You are welcome to bring your non-perishable donations to the church every Sunday.
  • In the narthex of the sanctuary building, you’ll find a large collection box.
  • If you need assistance locating it, feel free to ask.
  • Additionally, mark your calendar for FOOD BANK SUNDAY, which occurs on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
  • On that day, all current donations for the month will be collected and taken to the CG Food Bank after the service.

 

Arizona Diamondbacks

Join us for an unforgettable evening with UMCCG and the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday, August 9th. Here are the key points:

  1. The event begins with a game at 6:40 p.m., with seating in the Baseline Reserve (Sections 109-111133-135).
  2. This special evening features postgame testimonials from D-backs players.
  3. family-friendly postgame concert by Casting Crowns will follow the game. All ticket holders are welcome to enjoy the concert.
  4. Tickets are priced at $49.00 each.

  1. Bring Your Recipes to the Narthex:
    • Visit the Narthex.
    • Look for the sign.
    • Leave your cherished recipes in the basket.
  2. Join Our Delightful Cookbook Project:
    • The Susanna Wesley Women’s Group (SWWG) invites you.
    • Share your favorite recipes, from casseroles to cookies.
    • Let’s create a flavorful collection that celebrates our community.
  3. The Cookbook as a Perfect Christmas Gift:
    • The cookbook will be ready just in time for Christmas.
    • It supports our church’s mission.
    • Your recipes are more than instructions—they’re a connection we all share.

Martin Medical Equipment Closet

If you have a temporary need for common medical equipment or have an item to donate, please follow the process below:

To Donate an Item:

  • Ensure the item is clean and in working order.
  • Bring the item to Angie in the church office.
  • Donations are accepted Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • You can call ahead (520) 836-8630.
  • Suggested items include walkers, canes, bedside potties, wheelchairs, “grabbers,” or any assistive device to aid those with physical limitations.

To Borrow an Item:

  • Call the church office to check the item’s availability.
  • Visit the office, complete the necessary form, and Angie will unlock the room for you.
  • Pick up your item and return the form to Angie.

Soundboard Assistance Needed

“We greatly appreciate anyone with experience and talent in working with soundboards. If you want to assist with microphone management, don’t hesitate to contact the church office. You can call us at  (520) 836-8630 or umccg2018@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can reach out through umccg.org/contact-us via the contact form. Your help will make a significant difference!”

Can Crushers—Turn your trash into treasure!

We kindly ask you to deposit your items in the large, blue drums located near the east church entry doors. Alternatively, you can use the small, blue buckets placed by each door in the narthex.

Please note that we only accept aluminum cans and plastic bottles that previously contained drinkable liquids. We kindly request that you do not deposit cans or bottles that contain food items. This includes, but is not limited to, vegetable cans, cat food, dog food, fruit cups, plastic pet food containers, or tuna cans.

Remember to separate cans from bottles. The proceeds from the sale of cans and clear plastic are directed towards our Missions and Ministries. Your contribution makes a significant difference. Thank you for your support!
